Apr 19, 2020 · Chodai Group will work with the local government in Mindanao, an island in the southern Philippines, to build a 2.5MW biomass plant to convert rice husks into fuel. According to the Manila Bulletin, Chodai’s vice-president Toshimichi Hosoya said the firm is waiting for government approval before it begins construction of the facility.
From the silo, which holds enough biomass reserves to power the factory for three days, the rice husks are carried to an incinerator on conveyor belts. The facility uses technology made in India and has a lifecycle of 25 years. This means it will stay in operation after the ten-year performance period of the actual CDM project.
